The school has a dedicated Transitions Co-ordinator as well as an allocated Careers Adviser from Skills Development Scotland (SDS). The Careers Adviser meets with pupils from S3 onwards and conducts one to one interviews to help pupils move forward with their career plans and towards a positive destination relevant to the young person’s needs. SDS has created My World of Work to provide information on different careers, such as how to find College/University/other courses, apprenticeships and finding out what options are best for them.
Work experience placements are normally done in S4 or above. The school will help the pupils find suitable work placements and try to support the pupil to attend this placement.
The school will help a pupil become confident in attending College or University by accompanying him or her on initial visits to the campus.
