Pupils continue apace in the workshop, learning wood working skills whilst making pencil cases. As well as gaining experience in using tools such as mitre saws, planes and clamps, they have had ample opportunity to take onboard that age old adage of “measure twice, cut once”!
It is not just working with wood though. When your art teacher is a keen potter in their spare time it is inevitable that pupils will also get to delve into that secret world of throwing and moulding, firing and glazing.
Colourful cotton, bees wax, rosin and a splash of jojoba oil are the basic ingredients required to make your own lunch wrap. Pupils had a great time creating their own wraps, a sustainable alternative to cling film and plastic lunch boxes.
